UAE’s gaming regulator, the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), has granted Scientific Games a lottery supplier licence.
As a result, the company will be able to supply lottery products and services to the UAE’s burgeoning gaming landscape.
Established in 2023 to help bring gaming to the country, the GCGRA granted a lottery licence to The Game LLC to operate the UAE lottery in July last year. The formation of the body underpinned a new era of gaming regulation for the Middle East.
Michael Conforti, President of International Business for Scientific Games, commented: “We are extremely pleased that Scientific Games has been authorised as a lottery supplier in the UAE with this license.
“We look forward to putting our more than 50 years of expertise to work in the UAE to offer high-performing products that will responsibly help drive revenue for lottery programs supporting local communities and projects of national importance.”
Scientific Games becomes the ninth company to be granted a supplier licence for the UAE, alongside the likes of Aristocrat, Novomatic and IGT.
Earlier this month, in a bid to strengthen its regulatory procedures, the GCGRA inked a partnership with the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) to establish a partnership focused on innovating both land and internet-based gaming.
Signed during a New Jersey economic mission to the UAE, the collaboration will have a particular emphasis on cybersecurity, consumer protection and regulatory collaboration.
“This partnership with New Jersey’s DGE aligns cutting-edge technology with modern regulatory frameworks, unlocking economic potential while prioritising consumer protection and responsible gaming,” commented Kevin Mullally, CEO of the GCGRA, at the time of the announcement.
