Meet the team
Rasmus Sojmark – Chief Executive Officer
Rasmus Sojmark is the driving force behind SBC, a company he founded in 2009 with a singular ambition: to unite senior leaders within the betting and gaming sectors; creating a powerful ecosystem for knowledge sharing and strategic partnerships. The 140 strong people business has grown into a multifaceted enterprise encompassing industry-leading events and media channels.

The event business, SBC Events, has experienced remarkable growth under Sojmark’s leadership and strategic guidance. The 2025 edition of the flagship event in Lisbon welcomed an impressive 30,000 industry professionals and 700 exhibitors, a testament to its increasing importance – solidifying SBC Summit’s status as the “Greatest Show in Gaming” for the sector.
Complementing its thriving events division, Sojmark has built the largest gaming industry business SBC Media. The business includes 14 news and media portals (sbc-media.com), ranging from global and regional industry news sources to magazines such as SBC Leaders and Affiliate Leaders.
Demonstrating his entrepreneurial drive, Sojmark was part of the founding team and shareholder of the renowned software supplier EveryMatrix, as well as odds-prediction platform Oddslife. During this time he received multiple industry accolades, including EGR Awards for innovation and rising talent, and back-to-back iGB Affiliate Awards for his work as commercial director for odds comparison platform at BetBrain.com.

Andrew McCarron – Managing Director
Andrew McCarron started in journalism in 1998. He hasn’t stopped since. After roles at Coinslot International, Coinslot Review & Euroslot Worldwide, he was the first editor of Betting Business when it launched in 2004. Joe Streeter – Editor

Joe is an experienced writer who has been with SBC Media since July 2017.
A graduate of Bedfordshire University for both his Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Journalism, and his Master’s Degree in International Journalism, Joe has been a contributor to a vast array of properties in the SBC Media portfolio, including a four-year spell as Editor of both Payment Expert and Insider Sport.
The Editor since day one, Joe brings his industry experience and expertise, comfortability in front of the camera and the microphone and feature writing skills to iGaming Expert.
Ted Menmuir – Editor-at-Large

Ted Menmuir, serves as Editor-at-Large at SBC Media, where he leads feature news coverage across the network’s global portfolio of gambling industry publications, including SBC Leaders Magazine and the iGaming Daily podcast.
Previously, Ted was the founding editor of SBCNews.co.uk, a role he held from 2013 until 2025, helping establish it as a leading source for B2B betting and gaming news.
Conor Porter – Senior Journalist

A journalism graduate with vast experience in multimedia, Conor Porter has been with SBC Media for over four years.
Conor came to SBC with over five years of sports writing experience after graduating from Anglia Ruskin university, and immediately put his US-focused background to work, contributing stories for SBC Americas and Canadian Gaming Business.
Now a well-rounded industry expert, Conor also contributed heavily to Lottery Daily before his move to gaming, and now brings his well-honed news coverage and in-depth feature writing to the iGaming Expert team.

Christian Lee – Business Journalist
A graduate of both the University of Birmingham, where he achieved a degree in Human Biology, and the University of Leeds, where he achieved a Master’s Degree in Journalism, Christian Lee began his journalism career with SBC Media in 2024.
Working firstly on the North American market under the tutelage of Jessica Welman, Christian then became the lead journalist on SBC Media’s Multimedia team, providing content for our portfolio of podcasts, including the Safe Bet Show, SBC Leaders, and iGaming Daily. Christian was also the lead contributor on GamblingTV, covering video content from around the gaming world.
From March 2025, Christian joined the newly created iGaming Expert team, and has since put his talents towards covering global casino news, as well as the rapidly-growing slots industry on SlotBeats, adding to his growing portfolio of jurisdictions and verticals covered as a gaming industry editorial expert.

Martyn Elliott – Media Director
Martyn Elliott is Media Director for SBC Media, a role which involves the management of the delivery of multimedia content, the SBC Digital online conference series, SBC Leaders and Affiliate Leaders magazines, and all commercial editorial content. He has more than 20 years’ experience as a journalist writing about business and sport for news agencies and multiple publications, with the sports betting industry a primary focus of much of his work.

Craig Davies – Senior Media Manager
An experienced iGaming journalist, Craig has been part of the editorial team at SBC since 2017, joining SBC Media after an extensive freelance career. A graduate of the University of Central Lancashire, Craig works directly with SBC’s premium media clients, telling their stories via interviews, feature editorials and more.
Having served on the newsdesk with SBC News and CasinoBeats (now iGaming Expert), the latter he led as Editor for three years, Craig is a well-rounded industry journalist. After six years covering industry news, Craig moved up to head the media team in 2023.
Charlie Horner – Media Manager

A Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University Leeds, Charlie joined SBC Media straight after graduation, beginning at first covering the industry in North America on SBC Americas and Canadian Gaming Business.
Charlie moved over to the media team to work directly with SBC Media’s clients in January of 2024, and has since become a fixture across the network, expanding his coverage to feature content across the global gaming industry.
In addition to his feature work with clients, Charlie has also served as the editor of the Canadian Gaming Business magazine, and is currently the editor of the Affiliate Leaders magazine.
As well as his written work, Charlie is also a regular guest on the iGaming Daily podcast, joining SBC Americas editor Jessica Welman to cover US & Canada news on a weekly basis.

Fernando Noodt – Media Manager
Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Fernando has been working in the gaming industry since 2017. He joined SBC in 2021 and has been contributing to the growth of the Media division through its different outlets.

James Ross – Media Manager

James is a Media Manager at SBC with more than six years of experience in the sports betting and iGaming industries. He began his career in business journalism covering the casino sector before moving into multimedia, where he served as Multimedia Editor and created iGaming Daily – the industry’s first and only daily iGaming news podcast. He’s now shifted his focus back to editorial and clients as a Media Manager.
Outside of work, James is an avid collector of retro video games and occasionally streams gameplay when time allows. Much of his free time, however, is spent embracing family life – keeping a watchful eye on a toddler determined to test the laws of gravity, and adjusting to life with a newborn who has strong opinions about sleep schedules.

Ana Maria Menezes – Researcher
Ana Maria is a Researcher at SBC Media, responsible for gathering and analysing global market data to build and maintain SBC’s databases. She also leads multilingual multimedia content projects in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
Luke Walters – Multimedia Lead

A multimedia producer with a background in video, storytelling and digital content, Luke leads SBC Media’s multimedia output across podcasts, social and digital platforms. He works closely with editorial and commercial teams to develop engaging, scalable formats that connect the global betting and gaming industry.
When he’s not recording podcasts, editing content or planning new formats, he’s usually watching films, testing new equipment, or figuring out how to make high-end content on low budgets.
Anaya McDonald – Podcast Producer

Anaya McDonald is a Podcast and Multimedia Producer with three years of experience in the iGaming and gambling sector. She produces industry-leading shows including iGaming Daily, Safe Bet Show, and SBC Leaders, and assists on wider multimedia productions, handling guest coordination, editing, sound monitoring and voiceover work.
With a First Class Honours degree in Acting and as a Prince William BAFTA bursary recipient, she brings strong storytelling expertise to every project, including professional voiceovers for brands such as Cadbury. She is passionate about leading new podcasts and multimedia launches in the industry.
John Cook – Commercial Director

Commercial Director at SBC Media, John is an experienced and highly creative sales specialist.
Joining SBC after a fifteen year career in the financial services industry, including ten years as Commercial Director of Central Banking Publications at Infopro Digital, John has been with SBC since January of 2023.
Leading the commercial team at SBC Media, John and his team work directly with SBC Media’s range of clients, providing creative and unique solutions to help them tell their story, increase their brand visibility and generate new leads in new and innovative ways.
