EveryMatrix is elevating the fight against bonus abuse, by tapping into a new AI-powered tool.

Known as Bonus Guardian, the tool utilises AI to help operators identify and prevent bonus abuse by analysing player activity, adapting to abuse tactics and applying respinses such as bonus exclusion and withdrawal holds.

Stian Enger, Head of Casino at EveryMatrix, commented: “Everyone in iGaming knows about the battle between fraudsters and anti-fraud prevention tools. Each side wants to get ahead of the other, but with Bonus Guardian, we strongly believe we have a definite edge.

“Bonus Guardian is not just another fraud filter. It is a living shield that adapts to everything that is thrown at it thanks to the power of AI.”

According to EveryMatrix, 63% of all detected fraud can be attributed to bonus abuse, while fraudsters are increasingly using AI, automation and synthetic identities to exploit promotion offers.

As a result, Bonus Guardian’s own reliance on AI centres on the technology learning from real-time player data and offering a context-aware solution.

Utilising Bonus Guardian, states EveryMatrix, prevents revenue loss, reduces friction for users and futureproofs operations against evolving fraud mechanisms, such as deepfakes and AI-generated accounts.

UK bonus shifts

It comes amidst a significant UK shift when it comes to bonus regulations, with the announcement of a a ban on promotional incentives that require players to play across different types of gambling products and place a cap on bonus wagering requirements.

The first change will see online bonus wagering requirements limited to x10 the bonus amount; as such, “a £10 bonus cannot require more than £100 in bets before any winning can be withdrawn”.

According to the UKGC, the change “decreases the likelihood of harm, reduces complexity and improves transparency while maintaining consumer choice”.

Change at the top

EveryMatrix is preparing for a leadership shift in 2026 after announcing Jonas Groes, brother of the company’s Co-founder and Chief Executive, Ebbe Groes, will join as Co-Chief Executive.

According to EveryMatrix, the decision has been made as the company seeks to secure a podium position as a tier-one technology provider.

Jonas will be based in Copenhagen, where EveryMatrix has recently opened an office.

For the last ten years, he has served as a Partner at EY’s Nordic consulting practice, where, according to EveryMatrix, he has helped lead projects with a focus on strategy, innovation and digitalisation towards major Government and infrastructure clients.

“As the company’s growth continues, tripling our headcount in the last five years, and as we work with more of the largest gaming brands and lotteries, I needed to find someone who knows what it takes to scale a business and reach the ambitious targets we have for the next five years,” said Ebbe Groes on the appointment.
