Following the high-profile launch of Treasure Tumble, iGamingExpert sat down with Relax Gaming’s Senior Product Manager, Barry O’Hare, to discuss the strategic rollout of the new Supercharge feature. This innovative interface addition is designed to unify the supplier’s vast catalogue of in-game add-ons into a single, player-led experience that prioritises customisation and retention.
Can you start by telling us what is Supercharge and why have we started to see it on Relax games?
Over the years, Relax has built a strong catalogue of player facing add-ons and features. Supercharge acts as a central, streamlined player experience that brings all those options together in one place, making it easier for players to discover and personalise their gameplay.
We see this as a smart addition that really lands when it comes to catering to different types of players. It opens up a full range of upgrade spins and puts players in control of how they play, letting them jump straight into the game-play experiences they enjoy.
What problem does it solve by having Supercharge introduced to the interface?
Over time, as we introduced innovative features like Bonus Reels and Feature Buys, access points naturally became scattered. Supercharge unifies everything into a single, intuitive home.
This not only improves feature discoverability and activation but also frees up valuable screen real estate so the core game can shine. By consolidating these attractive features, we ensure that players know where to find exactly what they want.
How do you design a product like Supercharge with end users in mind?
Our primary goal was to create clean, intuitive user flows. At the same time, Supercharge needed to feel native to each game – polished, seamless, and woven into the experience.
Working closely with our internal studios in the design phase ensured that Supercharge met the same high standards as the games themselves. The goal is to cater to a diverse range of player types.
Whether they prefer Enhanced Spins for increased bonus frequency or high-multiplier volatility like Galleon Spins as seen in our latest titles, the design makes those choices feel natural and effortless.
What will operators get from Supercharge and what do they need to do to get it?
Operators are always aiming to maximise player retention. By making personalisation options more discoverable and easier to interact with, Supercharge encourages deeper and more sustained engagement and repeat visits.
All our analysis shows that players who interact with game features they enjoy are far more likely to return consistently. Because Supercharge allows players to play games their way, it creates a more reliable foundation for consistent performance and high player lifetime value.
We’ve already had a glimpse of Supercharge in both your latest releases, Beast Gains and Treasure Tumble. What has been the initial reaction?
Although it’s still early, the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. Even prelaunch, operators were enthusiastic, and since going live we’ve seen strong engagement – especially from the streaming community, who interact heavily during live play with our streamer-friendly mechanics that build genuine momentum.
Early data suggests not only higher discovery of features with a higher proportion of our players trying out the game functionalities and add-ons, but also increased stickiness. Players who enable Supercharge options are playing more rounds on average in the selected modes compared to comparable game sample sets that don’t have Supercharge available.
In Tresure Tumble specifically, players have really taken to the Supercharge options, using them to personalise their sessions and engage more deeply with the high-volatility features of the game.
What is next for Supercharge and how can it be developed?
Supercharge as it is today can be considered as ‘Version 1’. We have several exciting enhancements in the pipeline, some of which we’ll be announcing very soon.
As we continue to expand our game catalogue and platform features, players and operators can expect continued expansion and refinement of Supercharge over time, ensuring it remains a core revenue driver for 2026 and beyond.
