SOFTSWISS has confirmed that Formula 1 legend Rubens Barrichello will continue as the company’s Non-Executive Director in Latin America.

The partnership between the iGaming technology provider and the Brazilian is heading into its third year, as the company now has an eye on harnessing Barrichello’s need for speed to deliver solutions faster and improve productivity.

Ivan Montik, Founder of SOFTSWISS, commented: “As a lifelong racing fan, I know that in business, just like on the track, milliseconds can define success. Speed and precision matter even more over long distances. This is exactly what Rubens inspires in our daily work. It is this mindset that has helped shape our position in the industry and will continue to drive us forward.”

Barrichello first joined SOFTSWISS in 2024 as a Non-Executive Director for Latin America in a ‘strategic step’ to boost the company’s presence across the region, and more specifically, Barrichello’s native Brazil.

At the time, the country was preparing for the opening of its regulated online betting and gaming market, which began on 1 January 2025.

SOFTSWISS noted that since the beginning of the pair’s relationship, it has enhanced its presence in Brazil from one representative to a dedicated team. Meanwhile, total bets and GGR in Brazil have grown by 65% and 64%, respectively, from Q1 2025 to Q1 2026.

“I am pleased with our productive partnership. In our third year, our focus is on continuing to build on what we have started. I look forward to helping the team engage partners through racing experiences – it’s a way to share something personal while building real connections,” added Barrichello, who had an 18-year Formula 1 career and drove for teams such as Ferrari, Brawn and Williams.

Alongside cementing its strategic focus, SOFTSWISS has recently announced several upgrades to its product offering.

At the beginning of April, SOFTSWISS launched Motion, a ‘no-code workflow automation tool’ designed to reduce the need for technical resources.

More recently, the company also added two new tournament features to its Game Aggregator – Tournaments Report and Instant Tournaments.
