Light & Wonder is getting ready to set sail thanks to a new partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line. The tourist group has tapped the gaming company to provide its Operator Wide Area Progressive (OWAP) table games to the 18 ships in the Norwegian fleet.

“We take pride in delivering exciting gaming experiences that resonate with players, whether on land or at sea,” said Managing Director – Americas, Gaming at Light & Wonder Niaz Nejad. “We’re excited to collaborate with Norwegian Cruise Line to launch its first OWAP table games network. By connecting our industry-leading GM Atlas progressives across their extensive fleet, we’re bringing the excitement of gaming to NCL’s guests at sea.”

“We are thrilled to work with Light & Wonder to introduce OWAP table games to our 18-ship fleet,” added Vice President, Gaming Operations for Norwegian Cruise Line Ian Donald. “This innovative technology allows us to link gaming experiences across our vessels, offering our guests even more excitement and the opportunity for larger payouts.”

The jackpots are linked across not just all the tables on a ship but across the entire fleet. Moreover, jackpots accrue on every game within the table, including Let It Ride, Three Card Poker, Blackjack and Ultimate Texas Hold’em.

The first tables in the partnership debuted on Norwegian ships during the fall and more will be installed in the new year.

This is not the first cruise deal for Light & Wonder, that has worked with Princess Cruises, part of the Carnival Cruise family.

The gaming industry remains a huge part of the cruise industry that is not often discussed in the gaming world. Slots influencer Brian Christopher has been hosting cruise events via a partnership with Carnival Cruises since 20222. Carnival also works with Bally’s to offer benefits on board to Bally’s Rewards members.
