Light & Wonder has announced a change in leadership for one of its verticals, as Simon Johnson becomes the new CEO of the company’s iGaming business.

Johnson replaces Dylan Slaney as the CEO of Light & Wonder’s iGaming division, who stepped down from the position he held for over three years in November 2024 due to personal reasons.

Joining Light & Wonder back in 2017, the company stated that Johnson has been “instrumental” in assisting international commercial efforts for its gaming business in his most recent role as Senior Vice President and International Managing Director.

In his new role, Johnson will report directly to the company’s President and CEO, Matt Wilson, and join its Executive Leadership team.

Light & Wonder’s new iGaming CEO appointment comes as the company continues its legal case in Nevada regarding Aristocrat and its Dragon Train slot title.

Commenting on his new role on LinkedIn, Johnson said: “I am excited to share that I have stepped into the role of CEO, iGaming at Light & Wonder.

“As we embark on a new year, I am energised by the opportunities ahead and eager to work with our incredibly talented iGaming team across the world.”

In addition to his gaming experience, Johnson has worked in several other businesses and industries, including investment banking, private equity, telecommunications and financial technology.
