Playtech Plc has announced a significant commercial development in North America as FanDuel begins the rollout of the iPoker platform under the PokerStars brand.

Q1 trading saw Flutter Entertainment confirm that FanDuel’s iGaming services would be expanded through the extension of the PokerStars platform to North American audiences.

This morning, Playtech announced that its iPoker network will support the launch of PokerStars across the regulated markets of Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ontario.

The partnership is recognised as “Playtech’s first poker licensee in the North American market”, marking a milestone expansion of Playtech’s poker technology across regulated markets in the US and Canada.

For Flutter, the launch of an online poker room for FanDuel is viewed as a strategic objective within the wider transformation of its flagship US brand.

As of 2026, PokerStars is available for real-money play in three US states: New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan. All three are members of the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA), allowing operators to pool player liquidity across participating jurisdictions.

The principal objectives will see Flutter upgrade its sportsbook platform and systems, whilst integrating new iGaming services and content into FanDuel Casino.

Flutter was formed following the transformative merger of Paddy Power Betfair and The Stars Group, the holding company of PokerStars and Sky Betting & Gaming.

The announcement continues a strong start to 2026 for Playtech, with CEO Mor Weizer detailing significant strategic initiatives, particularly the company’s growth ambitions in Latin America and North America, where it is targeting aggressive expansion.

Marat Koss, Chief Interactive Gaming Officer at Playtech, commented: “Debuting our industry-leading iPoker platform in North America with a valued partner like FanDuel is a defining moment for Playtech’s North American expansion. We’re immensely proud to bring our poker platform to three major regulated markets and support FanDuel in their mission to deliver a top-tier poker experience to players.”
