Crypto iGaming platform BC.GAME is taking a unique route to boost engagement, unveiling controversial NFL star Antonio Brown as its latest global brand ambassador.

It’s a selection that will raise eyebrows, with the former Super Bowl champion having courted controversy throughout his 12-season NFL career, including ending his playing career by walking off the field mid-match against the New York Jets while at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

BC.GAME stated that Brown will bring “fearless energy and dynamic attitude”, as well as “unmatched charisma” to the BC.GAME community.

“Antonio Brown has never played it safe and neither has BC.GAME,” stated the company in a press release. “Just like he torches through defenders on the field, AB brings his unmatched charisma to BC.GAME. This is the beginning of an insane voyage with BC.GAME and Antonio Brown. The action will only build up.”

As a Global Brand Ambassador, BC.GAME said the collaboration with Brown will “create an intense connection” with the player base, including freebies, live events, and ”immersive experiences that can only be found with BC.GAME.”

The former wide receiver primarily played with the Pittsburgh Steelers during his NFL career, however, he also had stints at the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Outside of football, in April 2021, Brown reached a settlement with his former personal trainer, Britney Taylor, who accused him of sexual assault. He has also faced further accusations of sexual misconduct, however, no charges were brought against him, and he has also been arrested for failing to pay child support payments.

He is currently facing court proceedings after filing for bankruptcy in May 2024, despite earning more than $80m throughout his football career.

BC.GAME offers online casino slots and games to every province in Canada except for Ontario. The operator is banned in the US, UK and Australia, among others.

In late 2024, the operator withdrew from the Dutch Caribbean island of  Curaçao due to its “increasingly hostile environment for operators” and was also forced to reject a court ruling that declared it bankrupt while reassuring its sponsorship partner, Leicester City Football Club, that it had “no issues with liquidity”.

They have since reemerged as a new company in Anjouan, a small autonomous island in the Comoros Islands.
