Swintt has furthered its regulated market expansion ambitions after gaining certification for the Italian market.
The developer confirmed that the Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) has initially certified titles from Swintt’s Elysium Studios – Driven by Swintt for the Italian market.
However, it also expects similar approvals for the company’s SwinttPremium and SwinttSelect releases.
David Mann, Chief Executive Officer at Swintt, said: “At Swintt, our focus has always been on ensuring that our content gets put in front of players in as many regulated markets as possible – and acquiring ADM approval to offer our games in Italy is another significant step on this journey.
“As an established iGaming market with a huge emerging player base, we feel our Elysium Studios – Driven by Swintt line-up can make a big impact in the region, and we look forward to being able to roll out our other core line-ups very soon.”
As a result of gaining the certification, Swintt is free to pursue business with operators across Italy, and the developer has confirmed that it has already penned deals with two Italian operators.
According to Swintt, it is now live in 13 regulated markets across Europe.
The company entered its “very first regulated market” in 2021 when it gained approval for the Swedish market, and the developer has since expanded across Europe, including significant markets such as the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.
A new future for Italy
Swintt is entering Italy at a time when ADM is in the process of overhauling the country’s iGaming market and enacting sweeping changes to its regulatory framework.
The organisation’s strategy for change focuses on stricter compliance measures, advanced technological enforcement, and stronger anti-money laundering controls, as well as tackling Italy’s significant black market presence.
So far, ADM has issued licences to 46 operators in its first wave of approvals ahead of the country’s full market activation in 2026.
