Campeón Gaming has had a busy start to this week after confirming the appointment of a new Director of Operational Strategy, as well as securing a licence from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).

The two announcements come at a time when the iGaming solutions provider looks to pursue new opportunities for global expansion.

A new direction for Campeón

Sotiris Pappas, pictured right, will take up the role of Director of Operational Strategy, a move which Campeón noted will help expand the company’s presence within the entertainment and iGaming sectors.

Upon confirming his appointment, Campeón noted that Pappas’ “strong leadership, structured thinking and a commitment to delivering impactful results” made him a strong contender for the position.

“We are excited to welcome Sotiris Pappas to Campeón Gaming,” said CEO & Co-Founder Marinos Shiapanis

“His strategic mindset, industry expertise, and operational leadership will be instrumental as we continue to scale and enhance our global operational strategy.”

Pappas will take charge of both the development and implementation of strategic operational frameworks across Campeón Gaming. In addition, he will be tasked with reinforcing company-wide realignment on strategy as well as supporting the company’s next phase of growth.

With considerable experience in the iGaming sector – having served as Country Manager at N1 Partners Group, and Affiliate Marketing Manager at Novibet – Pappas will bring with him a depth of industry knowledge and experience to achieve long-term growth objectives.

A deepened presence in Malta

Among the key markets that Campeón will expand its footprint into is Malta, a market already renowned as being a hub for iGaming development.

Lauded as a ‘significant strategic milestone’, the provider has been authorised under the MGA B2B framework via its subsidiary entity, giving Campeón the green light to offer gaming services, critical gaming supplies and technology platform infrastructure to MGA-licensed operators.

Shiapanis added: “Securing the MGA B2B licence is a defining milestone for our company and a key step in our long-term growth strategy. It reinforces our commitment to operating at the highest regulatory and technological standards while expanding our ability to support partners across international markets.

“This achievement strengthens our position as a trusted technology provider in the global gaming ecosystem and reflects our dedication to transparency, innovation, and responsible business practices.”
