Bragg Gaming Group confirmed it has recently been subject to a cybersecurity incident, resulting in a data breach.

However, in a statement on its website, the iGaming content and turnkey technology solutions provider noted that there is currently “no indication that any personal information was affected” and that there hasn’t been any impact on the company’s ability to perform its operations.

The company added that it learnt of the cybersecurity incident last Saturday, and that additional cybersecurity experts have been brought in to provide assistance to help resolve the matter.

“Bragg has taken immediate steps to mitigate any potential impact,” stated the company.

“Additional independent cybersecurity experts have been retained to assist the company in dealing with the matter in accordance with industry best practices.

“Based on preliminary investigations, the company believes that the data breach was limited to Bragg’s internal computer environment. At the present time, there is no indication that any personal information was affected.

“Additionally, the breach has had no impact on the ability of the company to continue its operations, nor has it been restricted from accessing any data that has been subject to the breach.

“Bragg is committed to data safety, is taking the matter very seriously and asks its customers and partners for their patience as it seeks to remediate the situation.”

Bragg added that when further developments occur, updates on the latest information regarding the situation will be provided on its website.

However, they’re not the only gambling company to be subject to a cyber attack recently.

Flutter UKI data breach

Last month, a Flutter Entertainment UKI spokesperson confirmed to iGaming Expert that the company’s Paddy Power and Betfair brands have suffered customer data breaches.

At the time of the incident, iGaming Expert understood that the usernames and email addresses of customers’ betting accounts may have been taken, but not their passwords, ID documents, usable cards or payment details.

A significant number of Paddy Power and Betfair customers, mainly UK and Ireland-based, were affected, but not all customers. Those impacted were informed by Flutter of the data breach, who also contacted the UK Gambling Commission and the Information Commissioner’s Office

“We can confirm that our Paddy Power and Betfair businesses have suffered a data incident involving personal information for some of our customers,” a Flutter UKI spokesperson told iGaming Expert.

“Immediately upon becoming aware of this incident, we informed relevant regulators and authorities and initiated a full investigation, supported by external IT security experts, to understand what happened and how we can better protect our networks and customers. The unauthorised access has been removed and the incident contained.

“Our investigation concluded that the affected information was isolated to limited betting account information. No passwords, ID documents or usable card or payment details were impacted. We are informing all affected customers. Safeguarding and securing our customers’ information is of the utmost importance to us.”
