Blueprint Gaming has become synonymous with its ability to create captivating slot series and its recent release, Cash Strike Hotstepper Megaways™, marks the latest instalment from its popular Cash Strike collection. Daniel Kalinowski, Affiliate and Social Media Manager at Blueprint Gaming, speaks to iGaming Expert to discuss the series’ success and the reasons behind its ability to resonate with players globally.

iGaming Expert: There has been a particular focus on the rollout of Cash Strike games from Blueprint over the last year or so. Why has the studio leaned on iterations from the series in recent times?

Daniel Kalinowski: Classic slots are generally the comfort zone for players, but they also have the potential to grow into new, innovative slot games. Our Cash Strike offering recognises that there is still a market for three reelers in the modern slot world. There is an opportunity to generate and establish a loyal player base through immersive graphics, solid base game mechanics and interesting features.

Our deployment of Cash Collect continues to resonate with players due to its ability to award immediate cash prizes, increase the chance of claiming fixed jackpots and the number of free spins awarded in each title’s bonus game. Cautiously integrated features such as Hotstepper then play their part in complementing familiar mechanics and add an extra thrill to both base and bonus play.

iGX: Cash Strike Hotstepper Megaways™ marks the latest release from the series. What fresh features and eye-catching developments to gameplay can players expect from the January release?

DK: The maths in our latest Cash Strike release has been meticulously altered to accommodate the industry-renowned Megaways™ mechanic. Offering as many as 125 ways to win per spin, each of the three reels can simultaneously show up to five symbols. With Megaways™ typically seen on a more extensive reel set, our decision to incorporate it within a three-reeler title allows us to step away from the norm and offer slot enthusiasts an alternative player experience.

The roaring success of Hotstepper in the series’ previous release also results in it making  a welcome return, offering increased chances for players to secure cash and jackpot wins. Balancing familiarity with innovation has been crucial to the series’ success in Blueprint’s globally active markets, and we are confident our incremented approach of introducing new mechanics to the series, such as Megaways™ alongside proven features, will allow us to continue solidifying the game family as a go-to option for players.

iGX: Players have resonated strongly with the series’ releases in global markets, particularly Canada. What makes Cash Strike games versatile across different regions?

DK: Thorough analysis of market trends and player behaviours helps us pinpoint what titles work well within international markets. The US and Canada have typically enjoyed rich success with stepper slots across their land-based casinos. We saw an opportunity to bring this experience to more players online. Combining the three reel experience with features such as Hotstepper and Cash Collect, which we were aware already resonated strongly with players across both regions, helped us deliver a series that players could connect to as we had directly accommodated local player preferences. It is no coincidence that our three Cash Strike titles, Cash Strike Hotstepper, Cash Strike Hotstepper Megaways™ and Cash Strike Power 5™, are our top-performing games across Canada.

iGX: How will Blueprint look to develop the Cash Strike game family this year? Can we expect it to feature heavily within your roadmap for 2025?

DK: Reviewing performance metrics such as player ratings, audience engagement, and detailed demographic insights helps us determine what works well within the Cash Strike series. Strong performance in the UK, particularly Canada, has ensured that future iterations of the series will continue to play a starring role in our roadmap for 2025. Players can expect to see three more games added to the game family before the end of Q3. Cash Strike Win Boost is scheduled for launch in March, with Cash Strike Power Up to follow in May, so watch this space!
