Eastern Europe has been a hotbed of activity for quite some time. Many across the industry have cast more than admiring glances to the region as a part of global expansion efforts.
This certainly shows no sign of slowing down as numerous businesses continue with an ambition of taking pride of place within one or more of the region’s legalised jurisdictions.
One such example is Eeze, which has recently cut the ribbon on its new Bucharest HQ. This has been widely hailed as an “important milestone” that not only signals a commitment to Romania, but is also a move that will play a significant role on a worldwide basis.
Romania – a logical choice
Victor Herman, EEZE CTO, who is based in the new Bucharest hub, has cited numerous benefits of this latest move, as retail vs online and white vs black market debates rage within the country.
WIth a long history connecting the country and the development studio, the Romanian capital was identified as the perfect spot for the company to showcase its latest base of operations.
“Romania has become one of Europe’s strongest technology hubs, and Bucharest offers an exceptional combination of engineering talent, international connectivity, and a thriving innovation ecosystem,” Herman begins.
“The iGaming industry has a strong presence making it easy to find the right talent.
“For Eeze, it was the natural choice to support our next phase of growth while giving us access to a highly skilled workforce that shares our ambition to build world-class products.”
Eeze boasts deep roots within Romania. The connection between the pair dates back several years courtesy of numerous hires and key partnerships.
With a number of talented Romanian professionals contributing across engineering, product and IT already plying their trade at the company, opening a dedicated office space was deemed as the logical next step in strengthening this relationship, and creating a long-term presence.
“Romania consistently produces exceptional engineering and technology talent, with strong technical universities and a mature software industry,” Herman says.
“We were particularly impressed by the combination of technical excellence, creativity, and strong English proficiency.
“Access to this level of expertise was one of the key factors behind our decision to establish a permanent hub in Bucharest.”

Bucharest central to global iGaming ambitions
Despite the localised influence that this latest move will undoubtedly have, Eeze’s minds are very much cast wider at the impact that this could have on its global operations.
The competitive nature of the iGaming landscape is certainly not lost on anyone, and the group is confident that this investment will reap the largest of rewards.
“The Bucharest office will become a strategic technology hub supporting our global operations,” Herman adds.
“It will play a central role across engineering, product development and business systems, working closely with our teams around the world to deliver products and services for our international customer base.”
International ambitions are the primary objective of all business across the iGaming landscape, with stagnation meaning that you inevitably fall behind.
This also formed a key objective of Eeze unveiling this latest hub, with those in Bucharest set to be charged with supporting the company’s wider growth plans
“This investment significantly strengthens our ability to scale,” he comments.
“By expanding our engineering and product capabilities, we can accelerate innovation, deliver new products more quickly, and better support customers across multiple international markets. It is an important milestone in our long-term global growth strategy.”
What does the future hold?
International growth is the primary target for all industry incumbents. After all, if you’re not moving forwards, you’re going backwards.
However, Herman stresses that Eeze’s primary focus remains on expanding in locations where the company can access exceptional talent and support its customers effectively.
“While we are continually evaluating opportunities in Europe and other strategic regions, our immediate priority is investing in and growing the Bucharest hub into one of Eeze’s key technology centres,” he notes.
Concluding the conversation, Herman stresses that any future expansion will be guided by talent availability, customer demand, and long-term strategic fit.
