Over the past decade, the iGaming industry has undergone seismic change. From the mobile-first revolution and the fall of Flash, to the rise of regulated markets and AI-driven personalisation. Few companies have navigated that transformation like Amusnet.

As the supplier approaches its 10-year milestone, Chief Technology Officer Lazar Agatonovic reflects on the technological decisions, architectural independence and engineering culture that have positioned the company as a long-term partner in global regulated markets.

“Our strategy was to build proprietary, scalable technology that could sustain long-term growth in a highly competitive, compliance-driven industry,” Agatonovic said.

“By investing early in our own architecture and internal engineering capabilities, we established technological independence, enabling us to move quickly, adapt to regulatory changes, and maintain consistent performance standards across jurisdictions.”

Firstly, could you give us a brief overview of Amusnet’s 10-year journey so far and outline some of your biggest highlights of the last decade?

Over the past decade, Amusnet has evolved from a focused content provider into a globally recognised iGaming technology partner operating across numerous regulated markets. From the beginning, our strategy was to build proprietary, scalable technology that could sustain long-term growth in a highly competitive, compliance-driven industry.

By investing early in our own architecture and internal engineering capabilities, we established technological independence, enabling us to move quickly, adapt to regulatory changes, and maintain consistent performance standards across jurisdictions.

Some of the defining highlights of the last ten years include the steady expansion of our portfolio to hundreds of titles supported by advanced mathematical modelling, our successful entry into multiple regulated markets across Europe and Latin America, and our strive to strengthen our omnichannel capabilities that bridge online and land-based experiences.

Equally important has been the development of a strong engineering culture focused on system resilience and performance optimisation. These foundations have enabled sustainable and scalable growth.

What landmark products does Amusnet have in the pipeline to mark its 10-year anniversary?

Our ten-year anniversary marks a clear transition into a new phase of technological maturity, with a strong focus on expanding the structured game families, jackpot ecosystems, promotional platform, Live Casino and land-based vertical, all of which define Amusnet’s development strategy.

Rather than developing standalone games, we are building scalable, interconnected series unified through shared jackpot systems and functionality. By enhancing the Hold and Spin mechanic with dynamic boost features such as collect, multiply and mystery symbols, these titles deliver higher volatility and deeper engagement.

The layered bonus logic, multi-pot mechanics and high-impact gameplay tailored to key markets are crucial to the strategy. At the same time, we will modernise top-performing titles to ensure our strongest games evolve in line with player expectations.

Beyond content, we continue to enhance our bonus and promotional platform, introducing advanced tools to support operator competitiveness and retention. The Online Live Casino vertical is also expanding, with innovative formats tailored to the different markets’ online live casino experiences, featuring unique functionalities that strengthen our omnichannel positioning.

Overall, the anniversary serves as a launchpad for the next wave of product evolution, supported by new mechanics and AI-driven optimisation tools currently in development.

What innovations or product developments would you highlight as defining Amusnet’s growing position in the iGaming sector over the last 10 years?

One of the most important innovations has been our transition to a modular, component-based architecture. This structure allows us to introduce new mechanics, bonus frameworks, and mathematical engines without rebuilding entire systems, enabling us to cater to commercial and product needs while remaining compliant and available across markets with varying regulatory frameworks.

We are particularly proud of flagship titles that combine complex bonus structures with intuitive gameplay, demonstrating that technical sophistication and accessibility can coexist seamlessly.

Additionally, our strive for omnichannel synchronisation has reinforced our position by delivering consistent visual and mechanical experiences across retail and digital channels, aiming to strengthen the operator brand continuity.

What are the biggest player behaviour evolutions that you have noticed in the last decade?

The most significant shift has been the dominance of mobile-first engagement. Game design now prioritises vertical orientation, intuitive touch interaction, and rapid loading performance. Players also tend to engage in shorter but more frequent sessions, which places greater emphasis on immediate clarity and seamless gameplay transitions.

There is a growing preference for layered mechanics and interactive bonus features rather than static gameplay loops. Players are also increasingly aware of RTP structures and volatility profiles, particularly in regulated markets. These behavioural changes have required continuous architectural optimisation, performance refinement, and UX simplification to maintain engagement without compromising transparency or compliance.

What do you think will define 2026 from a product perspective in iGaming? Are there any key trends you are already aware of?

From a product perspective, 2026 will likely be defined by intelligent personalisation, deeper gamification frameworks, and infrastructure efficiency. Artificial intelligence will increasingly support content recommendation systems and adaptive engagement layers, allowing operators to deliver more tailored player journeys.

We also anticipate broader implementation of cross-portfolio progression systems that extend engagement beyond individual titles.

What is the biggest challenge that you see operators facing in 2026, and how is Amusnet best positioned to support them?

Operators will face the complex task of balancing growth with intensifying regulatory oversight and rising acquisition costs. Responsible gaming requirements, data protection obligations, and real-time monitoring standards will continue to expand, while competition for player attention remains high.

Our scalable architecture and consistent performance standards enable operators to focus on strategic growth while relying on a stable and future-ready technology partner.

What are your hopes and ambitions for Amusnet over the next 10 years as you continue your journey in this fast-paced industry?

Looking ahead, our ambition is centred on intelligent and sustainable scale. We aim to expand further into regulated markets, strengthen our omnichannel offering, and deepen our investment in AI development pipelines.

Above all, we aspire to remain a technology-driven organisation grounded in precision engineering, regulatory expertise, and creative excellence. The first decade established our credibility and resilience. The next decade will focus on shaping the future of product intelligence and sustainable innovation within the global iGaming ecosystem.
